CSV is what databases, accounting software, Python and Google Sheets import most easily, and bank statements, invoices and reports usually arrive as PDFs. This converter finds the tables on each page, keeps rows and columns aligned, joins a table that continues onto the next page, and writes clean CSV with UTF-8 so accents and non-Latin text survive. It all runs in your browser.
To convert a PDF to CSV, detect the tables on each page, read their rows and columns, and write each table as comma-separated values. On ihatepdf the converter opens set to CSV: drop in the PDF, check the tables it found, and download. One table gives one .csv; several come as a ZIP with a CSV each. Tables that run over several pages are joined, and scanned pages are read with OCR. Nothing is uploaded.
Each cell holds the text exactly as the PDF printed it, and any cell with a comma, quote or line break is quoted the standard way (RFC 4180), so an amount like 1,234.50 or an address with commas lands in one column. Merged cells put their text in the first cell of the merge.
Drop the PDF on this page, check the tables it found, and press Export as CSV. Free, with no sign-up, and the file is never uploaded.
Yes. Statement tables are detected, rows that continue onto the next page are joined, and amounts are kept exactly as printed. Check the totals against the PDF before importing.
Yes. Pages without a text layer are read with OCR. Choose the document's language for the best result, and check the numbers, because OCR can misread.
CSV holds a single table. When the PDF has several tables, each gets its own CSV and they are zipped together so the browser does not block a burst of downloads.
Your Excel expects semicolons, as it does wherever the comma is the decimal mark (most of Europe, Brazil). Choose "Semicolon ;" as the separator and export again.
Yes. The CSV is UTF-8 with a byte-order mark, which tells Excel how to read it.
CSV for importing into other software. PDF to Excel keeps formatting, merged cells and real numbers and dates you can sum, which is better for working in a spreadsheet.
No. Table detection, OCR and CSV writing all run in your browser.
