PNG is the right image format for pages with text, diagrams, charts and line art: it is lossless, so letters stay crisp with no JPEG fringes. Use it for slides, documentation, social posts or anywhere a page has to be an image. This converter opens already set to PNG; choose the resolution and pages, and every page is rendered in your browser.
To convert a PDF to PNG, render each page at the resolution you need and save it as a PNG image. On ihatepdf the converter opens set to PNG: drop in the PDF, choose a resolution from 150 up to 600 DPI, optionally pick pages, and each page downloads as a lossless PNG. Text and line art stay sharp because PNG, unlike JPG, does not blur edges. Nothing is uploaded.
JPG compression smears the sharp edges of letters and lines, leaving grey fringes that show when you zoom or print. PNG stores every pixel exactly. For a page of text the PNG is often not much larger than a good JPG, and it looks clean at any zoom. For a multi-page image in one file, use PDF to TIFF; for photos, PDF to JPG.
Drop the PDF on this page, choose a resolution, and press Convert. Each page downloads as a PNG image. Free, no sign-up, no watermark.
PNG for pages with text, diagrams and screenshots, because it is lossless and keeps edges sharp. JPG for photo-heavy pages, where it makes much smaller files. Both are available here.
150 DPI is enough for viewing on a screen. 300 DPI is the standard for printing. 600 DPI is for enlarging or fine detail, and makes large files.
Yes. Type the page number in the page selection and only that page is converted.
Yes. Tick "Transparent background" and only what the page actually draws is opaque, which is what you want for a logo, signature or diagram. Leave it off for a white page as in a PDF viewer.
Several pages come as one ZIP, with page numbers padded so they sort in order. Choose "Separate images" if you prefer individual files.
